Brolis Semiconductors starts to develop unique long-wavelength semiconductor laser diode technology
June 28, 2012 Brolis Semiconductors signed a three-way agreement for financing and administration for the projects “Development of long-wavelength semiconductor laser technology” and “Creation of the R&D infrastructure at Brolis Semiconductors” with the Ministry of Economy of Lithuania and the Business Support Agency of Lithuania. Total project budget is estimated to be 4.05 M EUR, out of which 2.57 M EUR is covered from EU structural fund. The remaining part is covered by a venture capital fund LitCapital.
During the project, year 2012 is used for establishing state-of-the-art R&D infrastructure, which will be used to create the technology for long-wavelength semiconductor lasers during the period 2012-2015.
Projects „Development of long-wavelength semiconductor laser technology“ (No.VP2-1.3-ŪM-02-K-03-047) and „Creation of the R&D infrastructure at Brolis Semiconductors“ (No.VP2-1.3-ŪM-03-K-03-002) are implemented in the framework of “Operational Programme for Economic Growth for 2007-2013″ via the means of „Intelektas LT“ and„Intelektas LT+“.
